We recognize that access to clean, affordable energy is impossible without enabling policies that remove barriers and catalyze innovation. 400Forests supports governments in developing national energy transition plans, net-zero targets, and regulatory environments that encourage investment in solar, wind, and off-grid solutions.
We advocate for phasing out fossil fuel subsidies, decentralizing clean energy access, and mainstreaming gender and equity in energy policy. Our work bridges policy, finance, and technology to accelerate just, distributed clean energy systems

Why Our Work Matters
Over 2.6 billion people still lack reliable electricity globally. Women and children spend hours collecting firewood. Entire communities are left vulnerable to climate shocks due to outdated, polluting energy systems.
