At 400Forests, we are committed to ensuring that no person is excluded or denied admission to, or access to, our programs, activities, services, or employment opportunities on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, language, religion, or disability, as protected under applicable nondiscrimination laws and our Code of Conduct.

Federal civil rights laws provide broad protections against discrimination, including:

  • Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in federally funded programs.

  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), which prohibit discrimination based on disability.

  • Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, prohibiting discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities.

  • Age Discrimination Act of 1975, prohibiting discrimination based on age.

  • 6 C.F.R. Part 19 (U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulation), prohibiting discrimination based on religion in social service programs.

We also provide reasonable language assistance services to individuals with limited English proficiency to help them access our programs and services across the United States.

Commitment to Accessibility
400Forests is dedicated to ensuring that individuals with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from our employment opportunities, programs, and activities. Employees and job applicants with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations to ensure equal opportunity in hiring and employment. Participants in our programs may also request accommodations—including auxiliary aids and services for those with hearing, vision, or speech disabilities. Such requests should be directed to the relevant 400Forests office or program lead.

Filing a Complaint
Any person or group who believes they have been discriminated against by 400Forests on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, sex, age, religion, or any other protected category may file a complaint with us. Complaints can be submitted through the 400Forests Ethics & Compliance Helpline at [www.400forests.org/helpline] (available in multiple languages and with the option to file anonymously), or by emailing ethics@400forests.org.

It is unlawful for 400Forests to retaliate against anyone who opposes discrimination, files a grievance, or participates in an investigation. In addition to filing a complaint with 400Forests, individuals may also file with the appropriate State Civil Rights agency where the alleged discrimination occurred

ACT TODAY!

The environment we have is not just the space we live in, it is the intricate system of air, water, soil, climate, plants, and animals that makes life possible. Healthy ecosystems regulate the planet’s temperature, purify water, store carbon, pollinate crops, and protect us from natural disasters. But this balance is rapidly being disrupted.  Add your Voice! ACT NOW!
